Getting to Your Flight

Every flight leaves from the same place: Pla de Bages, an aerodrome near Sallent about 45 minutes outside Barcelona. How you get there is up to you, a shared pickup in the city or driving yourself straight to the field.

Option 1

Shared Pickup at Plaça Catalunya

Classic and Premium Flight guests without their own car meet the driver at 06:00 at the Portal de l'Àngel bus stop on Plaça Catalunya, right in the center of Barcelona. From there it's about a 45-minute drive out to the aerodrome, giving your group time to properly wake up before the briefing starts.

The Round Trip Transfer is already included in the Premium Flight, and the VIP Deluxe Flight for 2 picks up privately from your hotel instead of the shared point. Classic Flight guests can add the transfer for €59 per person. Arrive a few minutes early rather than cutting it close, the balloon can't wait for a late pickup.

Self-Drive to Pla de Bages

Prefer to sleep in a little later? Skip the transfer entirely and drive straight to the Pla de Bages aerodrome near Sallent. It's a straightforward 45-minute route west out of Barcelona into the Bages countryside, and parking on site is free, no ticket, no booking a spot in advance.

This is the option most Classic Flight guests with a rental car choose, since it skips both the €59 transfer fee and the 06:00 city pickup. Aim to arrive by around 05:45 so you've got time to park and find the briefing area before things get moving.

What the Launch Field Looks Like

Pla de Bages is a working aerodrome, not a car park with a balloon in it. Picture an open stretch of grass and tarmac with enough room for the envelope, the fabric part of the balloon, to be laid flat on the ground and unrolled before it's inflated. You'll have space to stand back and watch the whole process: fans forcing cold air in first, then the burner heating it until the envelope lifts upright on its own.

Coffee is usually going before any of that starts, and your pilot runs the safety briefing once the group's assembled, well before the balloon is anywhere near ready to fly. Mornings out here are quiet: open fields on every side, the odd farmhouse light in the distance, and very little else until the sky starts to change color.
